Programme overview
The programme is intended for fourth-year undergraduate students at Gebze Technical University. It aims to build academic research and project experience through participation in SIR Labs research projects and laboratory activities.
Ten students are selected as scholarship recipients following the evaluation process set out in the programme guidelines.
Scholarship recipients commit to regular laboratory participation for at least 15 hours each week and to attending weekly team meetings.

Selection process
The preliminary evaluation considers academic achievement, documented project and competition experience, participation in funded research projects, relevant work experience, the graduation project commitment and the letter of intent.
Applications are scored using the components and calculations specified in the programme guidelines and ranked from highest to lowest.
The top 50 applicants are invited to an interview scored out of 100. A score of at least 60 is required to be eligible for selection.
The final score is calculated as 40% preliminary evaluation and 60% interview. The ten highest-scoring eligible applicants are selected.
Scholarship responsibilities
Participate regularly for at least 15 hours per week, attend weekly meetings and contribute to assigned research, project and laboratory activities.
Submit a brief monthly progress report and follow research and publication ethics, occupational health and safety rules, and the laboratory’s working arrangements.
Performance is evaluated through attendance, monthly reports and completion of assigned tasks. Scholarship status is administered in accordance with the official programme guidelines.
